I know it's hard...but

it feels really deflating when there are something like 5 groups working on a series, and not a single one of them gets all of the translations right.

Well, I suppose I should also be less picky about honourifics (I prefer them left in - although I'm fine with a good sarcastic translation where appropriate)...

*sighs*

Of course, I'm not going to say which series it is.

And I suppose I could always go and edit the translations and remux the subs myself...

嗚呼...面倒っ!

that happen alot, doesn't it. I have trouble choosing fansub groups too
I don't understand why many groups work on the same series. well we have more choices this way but it's also frustrating. we can't download every single release, watch and compare them :(

Yeah...too much choice is troublesome (more in terms of time than bandwidth for me at present) though it only really annoys me when I really like a series (= will buy and thus want good subs to archive to use to convince others to watch).

That said, I'm with you on the fact that too many people are subbing the same series. Including drama CDs and magazine articles and what not, there's enough material out there that to keep all translators occupied!
