Is the person who wrote that a constructivist liberalist or something like that?

What exactly do you mean with "constructivist liberalist"?
Haven't watched the movie myself and not sure if I really want to. The reviews are not very positive.

Just babble about the course I'm doing right now - International Relations. Having done more of my readings since then, I'm not even sure that's an accurate description, but I was trying to imply that the writer was idealistic, and someone who believes that context is really important for telling you how people will act...

Eto...so yeah, just disregard it ^^;

I found the movie really weird myself. Not really sure what they wanted to do with it...but my main problem was probably that I just wasn't interested in any of the characters, unlike with e.g. Macross Frontier.

Probably I will watch it anyway, if just for completeness. It's rather funny how Gundam 00 starts out fairly "realistic" with political powerplay and such, and ends up with all the fantastical elements (at least from what I heard)

hmmm...always ends with fantastical elements? This is actually the first Gundam I've seen that does that (the others being Wing, SEED and SEED Destiny). I was actually pretty surprised at what they went with in 00 - it seemed more like something Macross would do, without the music factor that is... I mean, it's the first time they've introduced an alien existence to Gundam, if I'm not mistaken...

Well, hope you enjoy it. (^_^;;)

Well, no, I didn't mean that every Gundam series always ends up with fantastical elements. Only Gundam 00. Sorry for being unclear. Like you said, Gundam 00 is indeed the first entry in the franchise that has aliens and furthermore its story develops in a very idealistic direction, while its first season has been compared with Zeta Gundam for its grimness and "realisticness". So that is a curious development.

Thanks. I think if my expectation is not too high then I will enjoy the movie.

I'm sorry m(_ _ )m...I have no idea why I saw just "Gundam" and "always" instead of "Gundam 00"...

Yeah, treating it as a popcorn flick might be the best way to go. (^_^;)
