To all fans of the Medicine Seller, here's what you'll get should you decide to make an order

2006, the DVD release of 『~ayakashi~ Bakenako』 brought out the quality of this fascinating tale, making it the talk of town. It's spinoff, 『Mononoke』, followed in the winter of 2007 with a lavish production that brought the picture scroll to life.

The tale of the Medicine Seller has already been collected in the complete DVD-BOX set that was released in April 2009, and now, it's time for the Blu-ray BOX!!

The overwhelmingly beautiful visuals of 『~ayakashi~ Bakenako』 and 『Mononoke』 will be revived in Blu-ray form!

'Ever'? Just out of curiousity, why?

Amazon gives a pretty good discount ^^;
But I know what you mean!

I'm just interested in stories based on horror folklore tales. Maybe the character design is not great but I think it suit the story. the use of color and paper pattern is quite artistic, remind me of washi paper
XD I guess I can not explain clearly why I love this series. I don't like any story in particular but when you put them together, all the elements are combined well together
But I must say I love the animation a little too much, especially in the medecine seller parts^^

Hm...I personally think the character design fits the style perfectly (the Medicine Seller looks wonderful at any rate) *grins*

I agree with you about this series being greater than the sum of all its parts, which fit together so well - if you asked me why I preordered it, I'd have to say (1) the art, (2) the supernatural side and (3) the commentaries, interviews and other background material.

Though I wouldn't say that its my favourite series - I probably can't name one! - I guess that's why I asked. (^_^;;)
