Of all things, travelling through Scotland for ten days gave me enough time to catch up on reading skimming through the movie magazines I've accumulated over the year. The ever reliable Empire magazine had news about the KoH DVDs to be released in the next 6 months or so...there'll be a 2-disc edition around September, and in December, expect a 4-disc extended edition with commentaries, documentaries, interviews...EVERYTHING, just like the LOTR DVD releases we've been getting over the last few years.

Not a big deal? We're talking about a RIDLEY SCOTT film; he's the one who necessitated the DVD format in the first place, especially with the notion of the DIRECTOR'S CUT.

*squueeeaaaal* ANOTHER RIDLEY SCOTT FILM TO GAWK AT FOR AT LEAST 210 MINUTES!!

The only thing that's irritating me about this is that it actually means an additional hour of Orlando Bloom. He's been everywhere lately, in all the magazines (since they're mostly British ones)...except perhaps for Premiere (although Keira Knightley is in that one...), and frankly, I'm getting sick at the sight of him. Overexposure. But well...it's still a Ridley Scott film. Now all I could wish for is to actually be able to see his first cut, which apparently spans a grand five hours...so that's why the cinematic release felt so...empty...

A fan can dream...
